I love my children. Nothing about that statement has changed now that they’re all grown up, either.
I cry when they cry and cheer when they cheer. (When they were babies, I wanted to sleep when they slept. No such luck!)
But, this whole Grandma thing. Oh. My. Gosh!
Suddenly I’m crying over ultrasounds. What’s up with that?! I didn’t even do that with my own!
When I Grow Up…
If you’re anything like me, you’ve gone through most of your adult life adamantly claiming that you are not grown up yet.
My favorite line was, “When I grow up, I’m going to be a grandma.”
Oh, My Gosh, I’m All Grown Up!
When I became a mom, I thought it was the best job in the world. I still do!
But now that I have a grandchild, and another on the way, my heart is so full.
(I think it’s time to set some new goals for adulthood.)
I still think being a mom is the best, but being a grandma is a very close second!
Let’s think about this. When the child gets crabby, you can send him or her home. But, at the same time, even when they’re not crabby, they have to go home eventually.
Are You a Grandma Yet?
I know some of you are. I’d love to hear all about your grandchildren, too!
Rather than put all sorts of stories out to the general public, I’ll be keeping my grandparent conversations in my newsletter. Why don’t you sign up and join in the conversation?
Life is still busy so you won’t get too many mailings. But, by being on the list, you can easily reply to my emails and help me get to know you better. I’m looking forward to it!
