Time flies when you’re having fun, and the next thing you know you’re all grown up. (You can learn more about the ‘fun’ stuff here.)
I always said, “When I grow up, I’m going to be a grandma.”
So, technically, I grew up the same year that I launched this blog!
And while I’d love to put off growing up a little longer by saying my first grandchild is “just practice,” I know that’s just wishful thinking.
Because Grandbaby #2 Arrived the Following Year!
I’m not sure I know how to “be” grown up. Strange to say, I know, since I’ve raised six children.
But, let’s face it: kids will grow up no matter what you do thanks to time and biology.
Getting Old is NOT for Sissies
I’m sure you’ll all agree that growing old can be challenging. Impromptu summer sports activities that we used to do without thinking now cause you to go to bed early and spend the next day in a recliner watching TV.
Not only has our physical stamina changed, but our bodies are also reacting differently to foods we’ve always eaten with no trouble.
And then there’s our mental acuity. It seems the more we know, the more we struggle to remember!
One of my goals with this blog is to share my journey in life. My body is changing, yes, but I know I need to stay healthy. I need to keep up with my grandchildren!
Posts placed in the “Oh, my gosh, I’m all grown up!” category will touch on this journey. I’ll talk about my change in diet and exercise, and how I may have possibly found the cure for hot flashes. (Somebody, please remind me to write this one!)
I hope you’ll share your thoughts and ideas with me in the comments of this post and throughout the blog.
Let’s take this journey together! I’m looking forward to the adventure.
